Alcaraz Dominates Halys at Indian Wells

The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz (2nd) achieved a solid victory over the French Quentin Halys (59th) by 6-4, 6-2 at the Indian Wells Masters in just one hour and seven minutes of play. From the beginning of the match, Alcaraz set the pace and broke Halys's serve in the third game, maintaining his lead solidly to take the first set 6-4.

In the second set, Alcaraz surprised with constant aggression that allowed him to widen the gap. With another break in his favor, the Spaniard closed the match with a clear 6-2 without facing a single break point in that set. After this victory, Alcaraz will face Canadian Denis Shapovalov (28th) in the next round, who won his match against Adam Walton (96th) by 6-3 and 6-2.

On the other hand, Argentine tennis players Francisco Cerúndolo and Mariano Navone will also play their second-round matches at the Indian Wells 1000 Masters this Saturday. Cerúndolo, ranked 26th, will play against American Mackenzie McDonald in what will be his debut in the tournament by being among the top 32 seeded.

If he advances, Cerúndolo could face Serbian Novak Djokovic in the third round. Meanwhile, Mariano Navone will face local Ben Shelton, the 11th seed, in a match that promises to be tough due to the American's good play on fast courts.

In other matches scheduled for this Saturday, American Taylor Fritz (3rd) will play against Italian Matteo Gigante, and Serbian Djokovic (6th) will face Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp. Despite his confidence after reaching the semifinals in Dubai, Quentin Halys was unable to trouble the world number two and saw how the Spaniard elevated his level in the second set, quickly getting ahead on the scoreboard.
